1859. "La Toma de Coro"
On February 20, 1859 broke out in the city of Coro the movement of the Federation, which later became a war with dire consequences for Venezuela. This war also has been called "Long War", "Federal Revolution" and "War of the five years." The liders of this movement were Ezequiel Zamora and Juan Crisostomo Falcon. This day, the commander Tirso Salaverria Coro stormed the barracks, seized 900 guns and launched the "Cry of Federation."
